Research Interest:
My research activities are mostly based on the fields of Acoustic Phonetics, Syntax and Translation Studies.
International & National Workshop/Seminar/Conference & Participations:
01. Participated in the Training of Trainers workshop on “The Introduction of an ICT specialization to the BA Degree” (Residential) conducted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Asia and Pacific Training Centre hosted in Kukuleganga, Sri Lanka from 21st & 22nd March 2012
02. Participated in the workshop on the “Research Commercialization of Universities  Projects and Innovations” organized by the Ministry of Higher Education held on 2nd November 2011 at Janaki Hotel
03. Participated in the Training programme on "Joomla software" conducted by the computer centre of the University of Kelaniya on 1st December 2011
04. Participated in the workshop on Hardware Maintenance and Software Installation conducted by the Information and Communication Technology Centre of the University of Kelaniya held in March 2008.
05. Resource Person in the workshop of "Marking Papers of the Selection Test for Translators ,NIE" arranged by the Unit of Language Coordination, National Institute of Education, Sri Lanka on the 04th of October 2007 at the University of Kelaniya.
Other Experience:
Research Assistant (May 2004 – April 2005)
Worked at the Language Technology Research Laboratory (LTRL) at UCSC (University of Colombo School of Computing) as a Research Assistant. As a member of the development team I am involved in the research activities carried out by LTRL on Language Technology and Computational Linguistics with special reference to Sinhala.
Translator (2000-2003)
Worked as a volunteer translator at Sri Lanka NESEC Foundation in Rammuthugala,  Kadawatha. During that period of employment I was able to gain working knowledge in translating Japanese into English, Sinhala & vice versa.
Japanese Language Teacher & Translator (2006 April-June)
Worked as a Japanese Language Teacher & translator at the institute of ILMI Training Association.
Awards:
The Venerable Kudawelle Sri Vangisa Memorial Award was awarded by Sri Kalyanivamsika Tapovana Samgha Sabhava for securing a pass and obtaining the highest marks for units of Linguistics in the First Year Examinations of the Bachelor of Arts Degree held in the academic year 1999/2000.
