International Confucian Forum in Colombo, Sri Lanka 2017

''Historical exchange along the Maritime Silk Road and Mutual Learning between Asian African and European Civilizations'' which is the main theme of Conference held on 01st and 02nd of December in 2017 at Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo. The chief coordinator was Senior Lecturer Ven. Malwane Chandarathana Thero, Head- Department of Sinhala, Co-coordinators were Professor Nimal Mallawa Arachchi, Senior Lecturer at Department of Sinhala, Doctor Mrs. Kumari Jayasooriya, Director- Confucius Unit of University of Kelanoya, Senior Lecturer Mrs. Mahishi Ranaweera, Department of English Language Teaching.

Chief guests were Mr. Karu Jayasooriya, Speaker of the parliment- Sri Lanka, Professor D. M. Semasinghe, Vice chancellor of University of Kelaniya, Professor Patric Rathnayake, Dean- Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya, Teng Wensheng- president of International Confucian Association, Pan Guang- Ambassador of United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, Ambassador of People's Republic of China in Sri Lanka and the Keynote Speaker was Professor Sarath Amunugama- Founder Vice chancellor University of visual and performing Arts and Former vice chancellor of University of Kelaniya.

Sponsored by International Confucian Association, China and Organizing committee was the Sinhala Department, Chinese Language Teaching Unit of Modern Language Department and the Department of English Language Teaching of University of Kelaniya.
