Senuir Lecturer Ven. Dr. Welimadagama Kusaladhamma Thero
Dr. Ven. Welimadagama Kusaladhamma is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Pali & Buddhist Studies of the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka. He obtained his BA with a Major in Buddhist Culture and MA and MPhil in Buddhist Studies from the same university. He joined the department as a temporary assistant lecturer in 2005 and was promoted to the permanent academic staff in 2009. From 2012 to 2017, he pursued doctoral research in the USA, obtaining the PhD in Buddhist Studies from University of the West. Ven. Kusaladhamma’s research focuses on Buddhist ethics, Theravāda rituals, and Sri Lankan Buddhism. He has served as a visiting lecturer in some educational institutions, published a few books and several research papers in both Sinhala and English languages.
