• Conducted a research for MPhil Thesis (Historical Linguistics) at the University of Kelaniya on The Development of Sinhala Language as revealed through Sinhala Prose from the beginning to 15 AD. C. In this study a special reference was given to Sinhala Inscriptions dating the earliest period of Sinhala records.(1996-Written in Sinhala)
• Conducted a research for M.A. Thesis (Socio-Linguistics) at the Graduate school of Language and Society, Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo, Japan on The Sinhalese Diglossia and Its History, (2002-Written in Japanese)
• Conducted a research for PhD Thesis (Socio-Linguistics) at the Graduate school of Language and Society, Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo Japan on the Foreignism and Colloquialism in the Development of the Sinhalese Literary Language. (2006-Written in English)
