December 20th 2023 witnessed a magical evening at the University of Kelaniya as the TESL Students' Association orchestrated a splendid Christmas celebration, enveloping the university in a festive ambiance of warmth and joy. Sparkling with magic and joy, the event brought together students in a delightful union of merriment, marking a memorable occasion that echoed the spirit of the season.

On the enchanting eve of October 20th, 2023, the first-year TESL undergraduates embraced a heartfelt welcome from the second-year TESL undergraduates. The event shimmered with joy adorned by games and dances while marking the beginning of an academic journey filled with aspirations, shared moments, and celebrations.
The 2nd TESL Undergraduate Research Symposium, 2023, organized by the Department of English Language Teaching at the University of Kelaniya, took place on October 16, 2023. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. Sudath Senarath, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and, the Guest of Honor, Mrs. Shezmin Wazeer, a lecturer at Nawaloka College of Higher Studies, and a former TESL graduate. The keynote speech was held by Ms. Shilendri Senevirathne, a teacher at Asian International School and a former TESL graduate. Moreover, the inauguration ceremony held at the DELT auditorium was attended by a distinguished gathering of invited guests, lecturers, TESL undergraduates, and research presenters.
The event featured research presentations by second-year, third-year, and forth-year TESL undergraduates followed by an open discussion in which a session chair and academic members participated.
The Career Guidance Unit at the University of Kelaniya successfully organized a Career Counselling program for the 3rd Year TESL students, which took place on August 15th.
The 3rd year undergraduates of the TESL Students' Association conducted an English teaching session for the students of the Faculty of Humanities, pertaining to a special request made by the Students' Union of Faculty of Humanities. We extend our sincere thanks to the Students' Union of Faculty of Humanities for organizing and extending the invitation to us. We would also like to thank all the students who attended the session.
