Research Mentorship
The research centre helps young researchers connect with senior academic staff members who can provide research mentorship for their ongoing studies. This is with a view to fostering quality research in both English and Sinhala media among the academic staff of the faculty.
Apply for Research Awards
i. Senate Awards and Cash Prizes for Research
Senate awards and Cash prizes are awarded for the staff members who have published their research in the indexed journals recognized by the Research Council of the university.

To be considered for awards the information of particular publications should be submitted to the chairman of the Research Council before the third week of every month.

VC awards for research are awarded for a variety of categories, The following are of special significance for the faculty of humanities:
Best creative production
Best literary work
Best promoter of international relations
