A Brainstorming Session on Effective Lesson Developing
A brainstorming session on effective lesson developing took place at the Department of English Language Teaching on October 13, 2025. This brainstorming session targeted the junior staff members of the department, who teach academic literacy (ACLT), DELT, and BSSS English language courses in the Faculty of Science. The resource person of this session was Dr. Anton Pushparajah, a senior lecturer in the DELT.
Participants had a lively conversation, where they shared experiences, concerns, new ideas, and best practices for getting students more involved and improving their learning. Dr. Pushparajah emphasized the importance of incorporating interactive methods into the teaching approaches to better meet the diverse needs of students and make their learning more meaningful. In addition, Dr. Pushparajah also highlighted the potential for designing lessons with the aid of AI tools through a practical task.
As a continuation of this session, a workshop focused on testing and evaluation will be taking place soon, once again with Dr. Pushparajah's expert guidance.
