Myanmar Ambassador Visits Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, University of Kelaniya to Express Appreciation

Her Excellency, the Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Sri Lanka, paid a visit to the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies at the University of Kelaniya to convey her heartfelt appreciation for the financial assistance extended by the University community during the recent disaster in Myanmar.
During the visit, the Ambassador expressed her sincere gratitude on behalf of the Government of Myanmar to the academic staff, non-academic staff, and students of the University of Kelaniya for their generous contribution and compassionate support during a time of national hardship.
As a gesture of appreciation, she presented a Certificate of Appreciation issued by the Government of Myanmar to the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, recognizing the University’s goodwill and solidarity.
The visit underscored the strong and enduring friendship between Sri Lanka and Myanmar, particularly through shared Buddhist values and academic cooperation. The University of Kelaniya continues to play a vital role in promoting cultural and educational ties between the two nations.
