The second lecture of the 'PARIYESANA' academic discussion and invited lecture series, organized monthly by the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies at the University of Kelaniya, was held on the 21st at the Faculty of Humanities auditorium (K14).
The invited speaker for this session was Mr. Kasun Munasinghe, Assistant Librarian at the University of Kelaniya Library.
During this lecture, the following topics were discussed:
1. Preparation of research papers (Abstracts, Full papers)
2. Methods for presenting academic articles (peer-reviewed journals, indexed journals, particularly related to Buddhist Studies)
3. Proper use of literature reviews in academic writing and the technological tools that can be utilized for this purpose
4. The use of AI technology for Buddhist Studies
5. Special opportunities for foreign education in the field of Buddhist Studies (Scholarships)
The event was attended by a large number of academic staff, including the Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Senior Professor Venerable Makuruppe Dhammānanda Thero, as well as other lecturers, and students.
