We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our International Workshop organized by the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.

The event witnessed enriching discussions on the theme "Buddhism for Modern Life," featuring: 

Special Participation: Indian Delegates - including Professors, and Doctors. 

Special Lectures: Prof. Panahaduwe Yasassi Thero from the University of Sri Jayawardhanapura, Sri Lanka, shared insights on the "Buddhist Way of Life." Asst. Prof. Sarath Chandrasekara from SIBA Campus, Kandy, Sri Lanka, delved into "Buddhist Psychology for Life." 

Special Guests: Snr.Lec.Sudath Senarath, Dean- Faculty of Humanities - University of Kelaniya. Snr.Prof.Ven.Makuruppe Dhammananda Thero, Head, Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies - University of Kelaniya Esteemed University Lecturers. Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the third and fourth Batches of the Diploma in Buddhist Psychology and Counselling conducted by the Department of Pali & Buddhist Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Kelaniya University was held in an advanced manner on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Sri Dharmaloka Hall, University of Kelaniya. 151 diploma holders belonging to both groups participated in this event.

Certificates were awarded to the diploma holders by Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. The keynote speech on this occasion was delivered by Prof. Dr. Samadhi Vishwanath Rajapakse. Dr. Sudath Senarath, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Senior Prof. Makuruppe Dhammananda Thera, Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, and the members of academic and non-academic staff participated in this event.

The program related to PSCS 31241 compulsory practical training course for foreign students of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies in the University of Kelaniya, was held on June 2, 2023 at Center for Education of Hearing Impaired Children (CEHIC). About 45 disabled children are being trained there, and the University students had the opportunity to interact with those children and make various donations for them.

කැලණිය විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ පාලි හා බෞද්ධ අධ්‍යයන අංශයේ ශාස්ත්‍රවේදී ‌උපාධි අපේක්ෂක විදේශික විද්‍යාර්ථීන් සදහා වූ PSCS 31241 අනිවාර්ය ප්‍රායෝගික පුහුණු පාඨමාලාවට ආදාළ වැඩසටහන 2023 ජුනි 2 වැනි දින ශ්‍රවණූන ළමයින්ගේ ශික්ෂණ මධ්‍යස්ථානයේදී පවත්වන ලදී. ආබාධිත දරුවන් 45 දෙනෙකු පමණ එහි පුහුණුව ලබන අතර, අප විශ්වවිද්‍යාල විද්‍යාර්ථීන් හට එම දරුවන් සමඟ කටයුතු කිරීමට හා ඔවුන් වෙනුවෙන් විවිධ පරිත්‍යාගයන් කිරීමට ද මෙහිදී අවස්ථාව හිමි විය.

කැලණිය විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ පාලි හා බෞද්ධ අධ්‍යයන ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමය මගින් සංවිධානය කරන ලද වෙසක් කලාපය 2023. 05. 05. දින කැලණිය විශ්වවිද්‍යාල පරිශ්‍රයේදී ආරම්භ විය. එහිදී ලෝකවාසී සියලු සත්ත්වයන්ට සෙත් ප්‍රාර්ථනා කරමින් විශේෂ ආශිර්වාදාත්මක බෝධිපූජා පිංකමක් සහ ආලෝක පූජාවක් ද පවත්වන ලදී.

බෞද්ධ අධ්‍යයන ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමයේ සභාපති කරදගොල්ලේ සීලවිමල හිමින් සහ ලේකම් නිමේෂා සදපියුමි ඇතුළු අධ්‍යයනාංශ සිසුන්ගේ විශාල කැපවීමෙන් මෙම කටයුතු ඉතා උත්කර්ෂවත් ලෙස සිදුවිය.

The Vesak Festival organized by Students Association of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, at University of Kelaniya on 05.05.2023. There, a special blessing Bodhi Puja and Lighting Oil lamps were also held, by blessing all the beings of the world.
